Seafood Sunday

Pretty nice week. Started off slow, but it progresses. Not going to post up the weekdays detail that put a big smile on my face, but let me say that I get to hang out with one of my fav. person for two days in a row and on top of that, I get something going, which might have a possibility of advancement for me. I am not trying to jinx it, so I am going to keep it to myself for now. Will definitely update everyone if this "thing" goes through as planned.

I also owe a huge favor to my "life coach" lol. She has been helping me in many ways, I can't even say thank you enough even though I do it five times a day for the rest of my life. But like I promised her, I will return the favor when I am in the position to do so.

So last night, was the first time I went clubbing since NYE. Not only I have been busy with work, but also with other personal things that have been effecting my mood. Problems still exist, but I had to come out and show some love to my homegirl, D, who was celebrating her 21st. I was definitely a little rusty in my club game, but had great time nonetheless.

Definitely none of this last night. haha..

So today, its a chill Sunday. Got up late, clean up the room, get cooking, listening to my fav. playlists and updating the blog. Today's menu is all the healthy stuff, especially after one too many shots last night. Don't get the wrong idea, its still me that is cooking, so its still gotta be delicious. Decided to have some Alaskan Salmon and Maine Lobster, since I have not been eating seafood lately.

Marinating the poor sea critters.

Grilled: just how I like it.

Bon Apetite:

Can't forget the Modelo, best beer ever.

How to pour your beer?

So I have been out a couple of times and everytime I get a beer and started pouring, people around me always complain. They said that I do not know how to pour, let alone drink a beer. The way I pour it, is just straight up from the bottle or can to the glass. No tilting the glass, no pouring in slowly; straight up! So I would have about at least an inch of "head" or foam.

The reason that I am doing this is because, back where I came from, this is how we do. We-my people, feel that if it does not have any head, its not a beer. Apparently, people in the U.S. feel differently about it. And now I am going to prove that I am right.

And for the rednecks that say, stop being a wuss, and drink it like a man-straight from the bottle, I gotta tell you that your manly way is wrong.

Frisco Week

Wednesday:
Wow... what a weekend. Started early on Wednesday night. Met up with Wen, Dat, Kfed and Wall-E at BonCon. There is no doubt that these Koreans know how to make their chicken. On top of that they have a mini keg for $20 that was more than enough for the four of us. The keg looks exactly like the one on Donkey Kong Game. At the end, I thought we were gonna smash it on each others' heads lol. I planned on going home and pack for the San Fran trip but that didn't happen-smh. Great time!!

Thursday:
Thursday night. Went to Jackson's at Reston Town Center right after work for Tommy Gunn's happy hour. Had an awesome time hanging out with the USIS crew. Met a couple of cool people from the office who always pass be the cuby, but never know their names-should've introduced myself early (geez Steve!). Definitely a great night to start the early weekend. It was soo much fun, I almost forgot that I had a flight to San Fran to catch up. Say goodbye to everyone, ran to the parking garage feeling all tipsy and rushed to Fairfax pick up lil buro then hit up Dulles. Barely made it to the airport, but we did phew!

Feeling pumpd since I was about to pop my Frisco Cherry! and I had two people who know how to have a good time coming along. It was an overnight flight, but I was soo tipsy and wired I could not even sleep. Did not wanna miss the plane passing over the bay at night overlooking the nicely lit city. Definitely worth it. Out of all the big cities that I been too, Frisco definitely the brightest one at night.

Touch down, get the luggage, find a taxi and get to the hotel. But the night was not over. Even tho it was 5am Eastern Time on Friday (2am local time) we had to stop by 7-11 and get some more alky cause you know how we do, especially with Wall-E with me hah..

Friday:
Friday morning, after four hours of sleep, we were greeted by a nice ocean view out the window.

Can't wait to start exploring the city, but before that you all know me, I need to get my breakfast on before I can start the day.

Before we left San Fran, everyone who has been there always talks about Mama's Breakfast joint.

They claimed its the best place in town, so as a food connoisseur I had to do it. By 730am, we were there and the line outside had started. We had about ten people ahead of us. Yeah...this joint gotta be good. It was a mom and pop shop kinda restaurant with less than a dozen table inside. It was soo pack, they had to lock the door and let people come in when someone from inside were leaving. It took us over an hour to get a seat. Get to the line right by the glass that separate the guests and the cook. We could see all the freshly made breads, pancakes, omelets etc. They even serve a crab pancake!!! who does that?!?! Well the Friscos do.

Ordered my Western omelet along with strawberry pancakes and a glass of mocha. Awesome!

On top of that they have this homemade syrup/jam for the pancake, called LollyBerry. It tastes like nothing I've ever taste and I tasted many types of jams in my life!! Let's just say it was more Jammin' than Bob Marley.

We did alotta walking exploring the city and shopping at Union Square for the rest of the day. Got back to the hotel, trying to chill, but Wall-E wanted to hit the gym, so we did and met up with Wall-E's homegirl NP.
She is definitely the coolest brown girl I know. This girl likes to explore new things, eat everything, knows how to party, have some cute friends-that's always a plus with me haha.. and works at Genentech (me and Genentech has a little bond going on since it was my last and biggest research paper during my last semester at GMU).

We get ready, met up with NP's girls and hit up the club. It was definitely another night without sleep in San Francisco. Had a good time, even tho I think San Fran needs to step up their club game. It was nothing compare to DC. I been around Miami, LA and SD, and Frisco's clubs is like comparing DC clubs with Mia clubs.
Oh and they don't have 24 hr place where we can grub after the club other than a donut place. Got back to the hotel with the girls, and everyone just passed the f out.

Saturday:
Saturday was spent strolling around the Market Place for some street vendors, fresh food and searching for Jamba Juice. They had so many things at Pier 2, where the building right by the Bay bridge.

Alot of awesome food vendors, street performers

and we get a little Wine Guide from our boy Wall-E.
We found out that he's like a walking wikipedia, cause he knows everything. This made lil buro give the title "the most interesting man" aka DosEQuis lol.

Went cruising down Golden Gate before we get back to the hotel and passed out...again.
Sunday: Spent the whole day at Japan Town. The main reason we came visit Frisco, WekFest! Its one of the most anticipated car exhibit in the West Coast.
Not gonna bore all the non car enthusiast, so I'm not gonna write anything about it. But I was pretty much over dose on dope-ness and hella flush.
Fast forward to night time, went to dinner at Juban. It is definitely one of the best Japanese food I have ever tasted. Get a chance to taste a little bit of Kobe beef. If you don't know, it is the mother of all beef. For a slap of 8oz, usually cost around 80 to 200 bux depends on where you go. Let me tell you that, it does not taste like beef at all, all the meat and the fat just melt in your mouth. Soo goood!!!

And it would not be complete without a glass of my favorite Sapporo :)
Fillet Mignon:
Due to excessive amount of walking during the day, after dinner we decided to stay in and party at the hotel. We have to improvise since the hotel does not have fridge in the room.
Yes, its a trash can/bucket filled with ice and beers.
Monday:
Our last day in Frisco. There is no better way to close this trip by exploring the infamous Alcatraz.
The famous Al Capone:
George "Machine Gun" Kelly:
The Hole:
Inmates:
Surprisingly breathtaking view from Alcatraz:
We did not spent as much time as we wanted to on Alcatraz cause we had to catch the flight back home. But now I know why people who have gone to San Francisco said that they met gentle people and left a piece of their heart. I will definitely go back to ...San...Fran...Cis..CO!
